Past Events

What a special night we had this past May at Circe Prime in Cranston at our RISE 2025 Graduation Party where we celebrated our amazing scholars with family, friends, mentors, fabulous food and inspiration to spare!
Click here for our Gallery section to view images of the event.
Where do we even start trying to describe the absolutely wonderful and inspiring night we had at Spring Forward in May 2023. A gorgeous setting (thank you, Botanical Center of RI!), amazing food (shout out to Ge Ge’s Southern Cuisine!), and our incredible graduating seniors, families, mentors, sponsors, donors and volunteers all under one roof, 110 strong!
We're so grateful for the Bristol Friends of RISE who hosted an fundraiser at Linden Place in December. It was a resounding success on so many levels. Many new friends were touched by Tim Flanigan’s description of founding RISE with Kevin Vigilante, and Eulanda LaFrance’s story of her family’s journey and the ways RISE has touched her life.
We had a GREAT time at the RISE family holiday party. Eighty-five people attended the party at GeGe’s Southern Cusine restaurant in Providence. There was great food, fun crafts and meaningful conversation. It was wonderful to get everyone together before the holidays.

2019 Report to Donors & Stakeholders

WHY RISE?

Parental incarceration affects millions of children across the United States, disrupting stability during critical stages of development.

• Over half of incarcerated individuals are parents, many with young children.

• Thousands of these children are under age five when a parent is imprisoned.

• Nearly 5 million children in the U.S. have experienced parental incarceration.

Without consistent support, these young people face increased barriers to academic success and long-term opportunity.

RISE works to break down barriers for students affected by parental incarceration by connecting them with mentoring and educational opportunity.
